Hello all.

I've recently set up a server for a friend who runs a small business and it's going great guns.

He has now asked me about setting up a server for him that can be used as a front and back end to an online store (import, export that sort of thing).

What he wants is basically an online store and database which will do stock control, ordering etc for him. I haven't got the time and don't feel like setting all this up for him from scratch (not even sure I could).

So what I was wondering is if there's a package or two out there that would take care of this without me having to do to much of the config?

Thanks for any help.

ayenack.

OSCommerce (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CBMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.oscommerce.com%2F&ei=5j-1S8CSFsKblgesgu2SAQ&usg=AFQjCNH0Tflp4oSCa_dbbSTNN9ZOT86p3A) is pretty useful for such a thing.

Community driven with a long history and tons of addons.

zen-cart (http://www.zen-cart.com/) is a branch of osCommerce and more people are now using zen-cart because of much flexibility in customizing the look and feel and running the shop. It works great with apache, PHP and mysql. I have used zen-cart myself and it is very easy to install set up a new webshop.
