How to boot Ubuntu install CD from external DVD drive in Macbook?

Hey!

I have a Macbook and my Superdrive doesn't work anymore so I have an external DVD reader.

I record an install Ubuntu CD and put in in the drive but then I reboot and press Alt (or C) but the Ubuntu CD doesn't show up.

Can anybody help?
