Apparently this software is hot-hot-HOT!

A new project JOOPAL combines the best of Joomla and Drupal. It will be the de facto standard for not only CMS, but plug-ins will power blogs and forums. WordPress is expected to be toppled from it's place as the king of blogging software. Joopal will also sweep aside vBulletin, SMF, phpBB and other limited forum software.

See it at: http://community.joomla.org/blogs/leadership/780-introducing-joopal.html

Apparently this software is hot-hot-HOT!

If you don't know, why are you advocating it?

Besides, this forum runs on a completely different structure

What I'm actually wondering is why all these so called 'open-source supporting' sites are running Vbulletin, instead of SMF/phpBB (real FLOSS), and can still claim to be such open-source activists.

Maybe, since "joopal" hasn't proved itself yet, it's because vBulletin still just is the best forum software availiable.

Edit:
That is, for a forum this size.
Besides that, "converting" from vBulletin to another type of board isn't that easy without losing all messages and members

vbull already has a portal add-on. If they want a portal, they'll use it, not joomla.

It has been said before: VBulletin is the best tool for the job.

Well spotted!

Good Grief!

Even after confessing that it was an April Fool joke, some people still believe in it.

Is this the making of an Urban Legend?

It's been discussed before, which doesn't exactly make for a good "April Fool's" joke.

You don't mean seriously? But the source of the products is so totally... no, you are joking... aren't you?

Sarcasm is lost on the internet. I was refering to the topic, not the specific software, even if said software is a total joke.

Maybe my idea of humor is different.

Yes, we need standard Smilies for sarcasm and irony.

Irony would have to be a pic of an iron. :)

Is Linux allowed to be that simple?

Maybe a 9-iron then?

Maybe a 9-iron then?

Exactly right!

A system that leaves ******* users floundering in bewilderment, and lets us show them with a sneer how obvious it was really!

Your 9-iron has got it in one!
