That is how xkcd should have been from the start... (and should continue to be) :)

Maybe that's an unwritten extension of the joke, to get someone to take a screenshot of a CLI web browser showing that in order to run a "CLI" application, the user needs to install Javascript.

Yes, it is. Have you edited the site preferences to allow Java-script?

Greatest April fools ever. Oh, and the Konami code works too!

(up up down down left right left right b a ) Use the keyboard; don't type it in.

Enter it four times in a row. Trust me.

Just found this one:

guest@xkcd:/$ ed
You are not a diety.
"Butterfly" doesn't work though. Neither does "magnetic needle."

Also, this works:

!!"Echo" is broken:

guest@xkcd:/$ echo
Echo ... echo ... echo ...
guest@xkcd:/$ echo foo
Unrecognized command. Type "help" for assistance.
guest@xkcd:/$

"Vi" acts just like "vim." The following commands all do nothing:

mp (and minimum-profit)
pico
edit
gedit
kate
leafpad
mousepad
notepad

"Bash" has this result:

guest@xkcd:/$ bash
You bash your head against the wall. It's not very effective.But these do nothing:

sh
csh
zsh
fish
rsh
lush
dash

Neither tab completion nor glob match seem to work.

"More" has this result:

guest@xkcd:/$ more
Oh, yes! More! More!But these do nothing:

less
most

SPOILER ALERT:

Okay, I cheated and looked at the source code through astyle. I made a few minor changes (mostly formatting related,) and here it is:
http://pastebin.com/RFA3Sbj6
Note that I didn't fix all of the formatting, I gave up partway through.

Interestingly enough, there are a few easter eggs which actually get overwritten later, and so are only visible in the source code.

April 2nd, 2010, 01:21 AM
sudo shutdown -r now works :) but apt-get update needs root access lol.

* Usage:
* // konami code unlocks the tetris
* $('#tetris').konami(function(){
* $(this).show();
* });

The Konami code multiple times makes the page go crazy, but where is the tetris!? D:
