Hi,

I know they're threads out there with tutorials and what not here and there on this forum or at least I believe there are and in addition on other forum a like support websites.

But I am a bit confused in how to install Microsoft Office 2007 onto my Ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix.

If I could install the Microsoft Office 2007 onto my Ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix I'd be golden.

Because I hated having to re install Microsoft Windows just in order to install MS Office and some other necesserary programs or actually one other program that I've mentioned in a different forum thread I just posted in the networking and wireless section.

If someone can please show me how I can get Microsoft Office 2007, Powerpoint, and Excel working on my Ubuntu netbook 9.10 remix that'd be wonderful.

or if someone can provide a link to a very detailed forum posting or some sort of tutorial. I'd highly appreciate it.

Thanks very much for the help and support.

You can run MS apps in Ubuntu using Wine:

http://www.winehq.org

But have a good hard look at the app database before investing too much time in this, to see what elements (if any) of this flavour of Office are supported, and to what extent:

There is also this

But I've never used it so I can't tell you much about it.

If you really need to use MS Office 2007 every day, Wine is not going to be a good solution for you. If you look through the WineHQ links for the individual Office components, you will see them rate Silver -- meaning, that only some of the features work.

If you're lucky, those features that work are the ones you need; if not, you'll find the utility limited.
