View Full Version : Linksys Valet: Just a mis-advertised product?

1. It advertises itself as a router that can connect to other routers according to its pictures/etc.

2. It doesn't have any USB Ports, so sad.

3. Doesn't DDWRT already do this?

Or can someone clarify if it's either A.) An April Fool's Joke, or B.) What it really is.

From the little I read upon googling it, the new thing seems to be that it prepares a configuration on an usb key, and then you load the key in the computers you want to connect in order to configure it. At least some in the series have usb ports for hdd sharing.

To me it just looks like wireless networking for dummies, I just bought a new Linksys router, it has the same feature that the valet has on a usb thumb drive, built into the management console.

You'd be surprised by the number of calls I get to go and setup a router for people, that have chosen the self install option when they get ADSL from the local Telephone company.
