View Full Version : [ubuntu] Sharing software between users

I have just installed 9.10 as a sole OS on my spare laptop.
This laptop is mainly for my own use but occasionally get used by quite a few people when I'm away at events etc. Because of this, I have set up another user for communal use.

In my log in I have installed a ham radio logging program, but I would like to be able to use this in the communal log in too. Is there a way to share one installation of a program across two users on the same machine? This program was not that easy to install, so I would rather not have to go through the installation twice, and it would of course take up twice as much space on the drive.

Any ideas?

TIA
