how to install 8.10 without installing grub?

hey ubuntulovers, i dont know if this is too old of a distribution to ask about but i need to install 8.10 on a partition without installing grub, because its already setup how i want it on my 9.10 partition. is there a way to skip the grub step on the 8.10 graphical installer?
