I've upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 and I am now getting Ubuntu 9.10 as a command line. After I enter login and password information, I am seeing this:
/etc/update-motd.d/90-updates-available:52: cannot create /var/lib/update-motif ier/updates-available: Read only file system
run-parts/etc/update-motd.d/90-updates-available exited with return code 2
Linux Paradise 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:56 UTC 2010 i686

After upgrading and restarting, it took me to the desktop where it asked me to upgrade a few things... Now I cannot get past the command line. What did I do wrong and what do I need to do? Please provide specific instructions for me to enter ont hat computer.. Thanks
