My wireless card doesn't work. I cannot found any information about chipset, except vendor name. Please, help me finding any information about installing and configuring this device.

uname -a

[CODE]Linux vaio 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

You're at kernel 2.6.31-14 update to a newer kernel and it should work just fine
Using a wired internet connection
Run Update Manager
System > Administration > Update Manager

OR
Open a terminal
Applications > Accessories > Terminal
and run

sudo apt-get update
You will have to enter your password which wont be displayed just type it in and hit Enter
then

sudo apt-get upgrade

Mine is
Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) [168c:002a] (rev 01)

And it works fine without backports.
I don't like running backports if I don't have to.
It's an option if all else fails though.

WICD has problems too, there is a pair of brackets [] in the config file for it that have to be removed for it to work like it should and I lost the note on where it was.
