Hi all,

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 using Update Manager, and have lost my access to wifi. Upgrading to 9.04 caused no such problems. I should also mention that it's not practical to get an ethernet cable to the machine. The Ubuntu network icons on the top right of the desktop now appear to have no concept of wifi.

The network card is a fairly old 802.11g from Texas Instruments. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a package I can download to recover wifi on this machine?

There is an option, I believe under settings, for you to go and view all available or missing drivers. I would try that first. When i began using Jaunty the wifi on my laptop would not come on, but i visited this options menu, activated the appropriate driver for it, and now it works like a charm

Do you mean Administration->Hardware Drivers? This only shows me nvidia graphics drivers.

Any other suggestions?
