I've been needing to clean mine as well. What did you use? I need to find an alternative to those specialty wipes that they sell.

For my 10+ year old CRT monitor I use a cotton wool saturated with rubbing alcohol (or aftershave or pálinka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palinka) :)).

The screen of an LCD or plasma monitor is more fragile. For cleaning LCD monitors you can still use rubbing alcohol or a mixture of vinegar and water, but for plasma monitors always use a special fluid designed for plasma monitors.
