Errors and Splash Change After Update

Ran update manager and install some updates. After it asked me to reboot, I received the following message before splash: "mountall could not connect to plymouth", and the splash screen now says "mythbuntu". What?

Got the same thing. 32bit beta.

When it gets to the desktop there's just a single panel at the top with a clock on the far right. No menus, no lower panel.

At the login screen, after selecting my user name, I was able to change the session to GNOME and login normally. Still, I don't know why it installed the Mythbuntu theme.
