How to get a G4 to boot from USB drive

I downloaded the 9.10 desktop image, and loaded it onto a 2GB USB drive, I am about to try to boot from it on my Powermac G4, if I don't succeed, can somebody tell me how to do this?

I could be mistaken .... but I don't think G4's could boot from usb, only firewire. If I am ... please disregard. Just a lurker trying to help.

Oh, you can, I just have to edit the NVRAM when I do it, I know how to do that. Is there a new netboot image for 9.10? The link here: https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/installation-guide/powerpc/boot-usb-files.html is broken.
