i downloaded the beta version of ubuntu 10.04 alternatei386!!
my question is can i use this alternate386 to install ubuntu in my laptop? or else do i have to download the desktop version??


i did not find the wubi.exe file along with the iso download? how to install inside the window? and where can i get the wubi.exe for the ubuntu10.04 beta1???

i did not find the wubi.exe file along with the iso download? how to install inside the window? and where can i get the wubi.exe for the ubuntu10.04 beta1???You got 2 choices here either WUBI in a folder in Windows and on its own partition of your drive. If Lucid does not
have a WUBI option at this time that leaves you with a standard install giving lucid its own place to reside on your hard drive. Be aware it is not a stable program at this time and if you do not know how to use a LIVE CD try 9.10 for a while.

thanks for the wubi links!! so how i have to install it? do i have to burn the wubi along with the iso or simply install it in the windows???

burn the iso to a disk then open it in windows and double click the wubi.exe to start the install inside windows.

Download wubi from http://people.canonical.com/%7Eevand/wubi/lucid/ and start within Windows.
