On screencasts using gtk-recordmydesktop, istanbul and xvidcap the colours are inverted, lots of blues etc. Any ideas what could be causing this? Nvidia 9300 Karmic, latest nvidia drivers, base Ubuntu, not using compiz

That is strange gtk works great for me. I suggest reinstalling the programs that are having problems and see if they work the second time around. Check the Synaptic Package Manager and see if there are any broken packages.

Tried that :( and no broken packages, im gunna try rolling back X a few times,
