Toshiba 1135-S155

I want to install Ubuntu on Toshiba 1135-S155 laptop but I don't have any luck so far. I boot the machine from CD. It get booted and reads CD. It shows me language selection and then install selection. once i click on istall ubuntu link it goes to blank screen and show blinking curser. Nothing happens after that. I tested the CD by using it on my desktop and it works like a charm but not my laptop. I was wondering if some one has seen this issue before and knows how to fix it?

Maybe you should try the alternate cd for a text install or the netbook remix iso.

I tried ubuntu-9.10-alternate-i386.iso but it got stuck at the same point. notebox remix won't work because my laptop is 8 years old and i don't think it support usb reboot.

any other suggestions...
