Not installing

Ok, so I have the ISO image burned on a disk. Then when I re-boot it brings me to the install screen, I choose install and it brings up the loading icon, after a few minutes that disappears and then a blinking text box cursor shows up, The screen doesnt change after this. I looked at some tutorials and this screen doesnt show at all

Any help?

did you run the cd first, without installing?

Running it before install is a good idea, I agree. Did you check the md5sum on the disc to make sure the data was correct?

The same thing is happening to me....I'm installing from a USB stick

Yes I ran the CD, ive been reading, do I need a thing called grub installed?

grub will install itself. did you burn your cd at low speed and how much ram do you have?
