Hello,
I have recently gone through the trauma of using the Update Manager, after it prompted me I had things to update.
This left me with an unusable system - I have now managed to resolve most the problems (I think), but now, whenever I select "cdrom0", all the icons on the desktop disappear. This happens whether I select the desktop icon, or the icon under "Computer".
I have a dvd-rw attached to the computer, and a mobile broadband dongle which for some reason registers as a CD drive. cdrom0 is the DVD-RW.
Any ideas?! The amount of problems I'm experiencing with Ubuntu is staggering!
Cheers
