i was wondering if i shud get ubuntu as i have windows 7 i want to dual boot, but im worried ubuntu wont suppot my pc properly.

also i hav a free disc of ubuntu 9.10 ,not sure if its 32bit or not

The specifications are of course large enough, is your computer a laptop or a computer you've built?

Do you have the model and brand of your wireless card?

Does the live cd not pick up on the wireless card?

Wireless is your only possible source of troubles.

Try a liveCD, or post what brand/model the card is.

Ubuntu will run very well on this configuration. It will be better for you to install the 64-bit edition, not the 32-bit, though either will work.

Run the live CD if that works fine then u can install
