I am new to Ubuntu and I've been running into some problems with my video driver. I have an ATI Radeon HD2600 pro and when I originally installed the driver found under hardware drivers it gave me the black screen every time I booted up. Thanks to some of the responses I got on the forum, also to a little bit of research, I was able to undo the problem. But now I have another issue, the open source drivers that i found on software search don't really change much as far as I can tell and installing the AMD driver would give me black screen again. I want to have the desktop effects on and to do other things, is there a way to get around this?
