cockatiel scraped his foot and is bleeding..what should i do ?

he was under his cage and made this metal food bowl drop and the metal scraped some of the skin on the upper part of his foot...well where his joint is for his leg to bend...and he is bleeding. He doesnt really use it atm but im sure thats because it hurts...should i just let it heal or should i be getting something for it...he bites at it from time to time im thinking he is cleaning the feathers away from getting into it or wat not. so yeah should i buy something cause i know u gotta put this powder stuff on their nails if u cut the vein in it.

possibly I would think that what they are saying is a vet would be better placed to give information than a linux forum.
