View Full Version : Figure this one out: every single site is throttled, except Youtube

My main internet connection is via mobile broadband. Once I pass 4 GB of data, I get throttled to 12 Kb/s. The funny part is that YouTube videos still play perfectly - even the HD videos. The site also loads instantly. I can be downloading something at 12 Kb/s and watch a YouTube HD video at the same time without any problems. If I try to visit any other video site, it is unusable; other sites are horribly slow. How can I use this "glitch" to bypass the throttling?

I do not think you can bypass it...
Hurray for net neutrality!

Youtube uses a different protocol for streaming data. I suppose that's how they throttle your speed.

Is there maybe a proxy that uses this protocol?
