Hi,
I'm trying to install proprietary driver of my old ATI's Radeon x600 card. There are two libraries missing:
XFree86-Mesa-libGL
XFree86-libs
Could You help me finding those two? Thank You in advance.

IF you're running an Ubuntu version newer than 8.10 -- you're completely wasting your time!

ATI dropped support for Linux drivers for your card nearly a year ago.

If you try to force an install, you'll only end up trashing your display, and then you have to boot into a root console to remove the drivers.

The open source drivers are installed by default -- and that's all that is available now.

Well, that's info I was afraid of. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and I see, that I won't avoid replacing of my old laptop...
I'm also afraid of problems with new laptop, it's quite possible there won't be any drivers for new hardware too...
The only way is to buy and wait for it to show up.

THX for Your reply.
