OSS4.x in ubuntu netbook remix?
ive purged pulse, disabled and blacklisted ALSA and uninstalled the components, installed OSS4.x dpkg (followed instructions on forums and all seemed well [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenSound]) but when i need to reboot computer wont shut down or restart; instead only logs off then asks me to log back in, when computer power is forced off it will not boot again (after ubuntu is selected from grub is stays on splash screen with CAPS Lock light blinking and doesnt proceed). when it comes time to remove ALSA packages i notice that the package "ubuntu-netbook-remix" will also be removed, is this what's causing the boot issue?
possibly something of this process (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenSound) is doing harm and preventing the os from booting, or am i being impatient and should wait longer with the blinking caps lock?
