Alternate CD

Hi All ..

When you install Ubuntu using the Alternate CD, there are options listed on the bottom, i think its F4 for Modes. Now that gives you an option to do a 'Minimal Install' ... Now is this the same as using the mini.iso ?

A "minimal install" installs the same set of packages whatever installation medium you use. The difference with the mini.iso is that the alternate CD contains more packages, so the installer won't have to download anything from the Internet.
