I'm trying to install Ubununtu 8.04 LTS server edition on a Compaq Proliant 2500 server. Upon installing I got the error "ACPI: no DMI Bios year, acpi=force is required to enable ACPI" I tried forcing ACPI in the boot options but got the same error. So I used ACPI=off and I got a screen with just the cursor flashing in the upper left hand corner and it seems like it is froze up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
