Research Feedback needed

Hello everyone,

We are currently working on the creation of an auction website as part of our study.
I have included in the attachment below, a picture of our final design. It is aimed at the average internet user, and we hope it is appealing to look at, as well as new tech.

My question is, could you please have a look at the picture and just write a couple of lines or words about your opinion of the idea of this site, and what improvements you would make or perhaps what is a plus point.

It looks easy enough to use. Interface is clean and uncluttered, which is a plus.

A clean, uncluttered interface is a nice welcome to the web (heck, it's how Google got started).

It looks good to me. Very clean and stylish. Only thing I see is that the categories column doesn't seem to fit well with the rest of the theme, IMHO. Maybe if you made the categories a similar style to the "Home" and "Faq" buttons. You've got plenty of vertical space for it.
