I have a server which is in an isolated LAN onto which I would like to install some packages from the Ubuntu Repositories.
I realise I can go to packages.ubuntu.com and download them one at a time following the dependencies through but this is a bit of a nightmare.
Is there anyway I can use the -d option of apt-get to download the files on another machine so I can transfer the lot over in one go?
It is probably important to note that the server is running 8.04.4 and the other machine I have run 9.10 and may or may not have said packages installed.
Any help appreciated
