Installing 9.10 to xp sp3

I have windows xp sp3. I downloded ubuntu 9.10 desktop to CD. After installing I left cd in and tried the re booting to ubuntu cd option. xp re booted. What now?

Welcome to the forums.

Did you burn the CD as an ISO and not just copy it to the CD. If you copied it you will just see one file. If you burned it as an ISO image it will have many files and then be bootable.
