I wonder how one can set default automount options in gnome on Ubuntu 9.04. what I want to solve specifically is that vfat media (like memory cards) is mounted with lowercase or mixed case settings, so that for example the jpeg images from my digital camera have the extesion .jpg instead of .JPG

I googled the issue, but all documentation seems to point to UI options that don't show up in ubuntu 9.04. for example: http://people.debian.org.tw/~chihchun/2007/06/20/setup-mount-options-for-gnome-mount/

on right click, there's no Volume tab in the mounted devices' properties

in conf-editor there is no /system/storage path among the conf settings

I didn't find any obvious way to set this via the gnome UI anywhere else either...

am I missing something obvious?
