These guys really light my fuse this morning and I let them know.
This is the e-mail I sent them, wonder if I will get a reply.

I was really disappointed to find out that I need windows media player
to view some of the news story, sorry to say but not everybody use MS
windows. I have been a GNU/Linux user for years and your website is the
first I come across that only caters to MS folks, all other websites in
this world give you a choice to use Real Player or MS media player or
other players. I find this very close minded on your part. I would
suggest you get up with the times and accommodate the rest of us in this
world that don't use MS. There is no excuse for this behaviour with all
the new technologies at your disposal your website should be able to
accommodate everyone, this is the year 2005 not 1982. Look at CBC,
Global, BBC, NBC, TV5, etc..etc... the list goes on. As a long time
viewer of CTV to many years to remember I hope you do something about
this problem.

Alot of porn sites only kater to people who use Windows Media Player. Besides being really annoying that the movie comes up in WMA instead of the main page like Quicktime when I switch over to Linux I won't be able to watch alot of the movies I like  .

I've tried everything but with them you have no choice media player or nothing. Plug in for other viewer don't work due to the way they have built the website, if they did some works to the scripts it would solved the problem. CTV being a long time Canadian tv broadcast and news, well like I said no excuse for that.

After following the directions there (and the original thread: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=94 ) I was able to watch pretty much any Windows Media file.

I have done it also and then some, everything is working good on my system, all my media programs work good I have no problem anywhere, but I will be dam if I got to hack some more just to see the news on that site. The way I look at it I've done my part now it's there turn. It's not like I am new to linux, I started back with RedHat 7 and moved to Libranet 2.0 2.7, 2.8, 2.8.1 and then moved to Ubuntu. All the Libranet I bought them to support them.
CTV just got to get off their lazy butt and get up to speed with the times, everybody else is.. I pay for there service on my sat dish and I pay for my internet service so all I ask is give me some service instead of me hacking for a while just to see the bloody news clip.
