Hi Guys,

Im board of windows 7 and want to try Ubuntu 9.10 on my new laptop,
but would like to know can it linux run on 64bt processer?

Also i would like to do some video editing on my laptop, so the question i guess am going to ask is, whats the best ivdeo editing program for linux?

Sure. You can either install the 64 bit version, or the 32 bit version. 64 bit is suggested if you have 4 gigs+ of ram. 32 bit runs just fine on 64 bit processors otherwise. (32 bit supports a maximum of 4 gigs of ram, that's why it is better to install 64 bit if you have more)

I don't personally do video editing, but I've heard great things about kdenlive and pitivi.

Cinelerra works very well for me on 64-bit hardware.

Provides simple instructions for doing to most common tasks.

If you have never used Linux, you might find the Ubuntu variant found here:
http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=46

will get you "up and running" faster.
