Terminal doesn't load/open

I try to open terminal, and its like a window all grey, like it's loading but it never does load.

What can I do?

By the way, I'm using Ubuntu, not kubuntu

Just for clarification: You're talking about Applications>Accessories>Terminal - as opposed to CTRL-ALT-F2?

Any terminal, did you try with xterm?
