I don't know about you, but more times than not, when I have a tab open with the Ubuntu forums it loads a few lines and then stops and sits there "loading".

It doesn't happen on any other sites, or any other forums, just Ubuntuforums.

For example, it took me 2 tries to reload the page until I could actually type this. It got as far as the line for putting in the Title, but then the page hung there with the Firefox indicator spinning and spinning.

It isn't effected by time of day or browser even (started in IE, then found it still did it in Firefox).

Does anybody else have this happen to them?

Happens to me also, probably just because of the huge load on the forum.

Not for me and my low-end IBM T41.

I also have a nice dark stylish theme too, maybe modifying the style forcibly makes it better?

You should try loading the PlayStation Forums: http://boardsus.playstation.com/, then try clicking on one of the higher up text links.

Ahh.. so I'm not going insane! thanks!

It's also happened at home and here at work so it should not be the network.

Though not sure how many times it happens to you, just hangs for me every few days.

Hm, what DNS servers are you using for your connection?

Not sure how I would determine that here at work (Windows XP) without asking the sys admin (whom I don't want to raise the suspicion of..;))

Open a command prompt in XP and type:

ipconfig /all

The above command will give you all your network connection info.

arrghhh... it took me a while before THIS thread came up ;) Did notice, though, that when I stopped one of the tabs, the other 3 came up quickly so it could be a case of 1 failure holding up the others (and yes, it has happened when I have only one browser and one tab open).

DNS servers are (internal?) IP addresses;
10.5.5.1
10.5.5.2
10.5.6.1
10.5.6.2
