My friend is asking me to biuld him a new machine . He is a photographer and deals with huge raw image files . To make it move them faster i am suggesting ssd drive for root and one of faster sata drives for home . It will be quad core AMD with 4 or more gigs ram nice Nvidia card , cooler master case and power supply and this mobo : http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=3258&ver=
He is in love with Ubuntu (my convert he he;) ) . I am wondering how Ubuntu handles USB3 . Right now he has some fancy expensive cameras , but i do not know will they benefit from USB3 . Also we can look into firewire .
I would appreciate any input and experiences regarding this hardware and photographers experiences .
