View Full Version : [ubuntu] cups hold jobs for external machines

I have a CUPS printer set up, and in order to allow myself to print from anywhere, I've opened it up to the web. As it is, there is no authentication for the /printers/ directory. I don't really like this as it allows people to print who do not have authorization. How might I set up the printer to hold jobs be default for jobs that are sent from external addresses. I know I can have it hold every job until its released, but that's really inconvenient for when I'm on the LAN, I'd rather have the jobs print immediately when the job is submitted from @LOCAL.

Anybody doing this? or have suggestions on how to implement this?
