Hi, I am running Linux Mint 7. And, I have just ran into a weird problem...When ever I want to install, something through the package manager. It wouln't load, it just comes back with a error

E: Syntax error /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades:2: Extra junk at end of file

What does tht mean?
Also when I try to use my software manager it loads fine, but when I click to install anything it does nothing...

Now I don't know if these are linked, but yesterday, this all started. when I went to shut Mint down, it said unknown prcesses are still running, so I cancled them. Then it froze... So I just killed it(with the power button). Now, ever time I try to start it, it says there are many unexpected errors, then it runs a fsck(disk check) it finds the same errors every time..

Is my hard drive die'ing-or do I have a"Virus"?
Thanks!

Well, I haven't good graphic support with mint 7 ever,(not its fault-just a crappy desktop). So I installed linux mint 8...Im very satisfied,it was time for a change!!

Thanks anyway!
