I'm sorry, I'm not sure if this is in the right forum.
There are a lot of things I do on my system that require root access. For example, my text editor, because sometimes I want to edit config files and what not. My root terminal, so that I can run administrative commands and the likes, and so on.
However, I find myself having to enter my root password far to often. I even have to enter it when shutting down or rebooting, because it says that root password is required when shutting down while other users are logged in. I only have one user on the computer, so I don't know why I have to enter my password every time I want to shut down.
In any case, is there a way that I can enter the root password when I first log in and not have it ask me again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
In case it helps:
root@Jason-Ubuntu:/# uname -a
