View Full Version : [ubuntu] Replace usplash with xsplash

hello everyone, i would like to replace the usplash in my 64bt ubuntu 8.10 installation with xsplash----- is it possible.....ubuntu 9.10 doasn't work with my laptops hardware......acer aspire 5970 with an intel 4500mhd intergrated graphics...

if i can't then can u direct me to a tutorial that allows me to make a usplash/splashy boot up screen with animated loading bar/avatar for ubuntu 8.10-----

another isue is Java update 18... for firefox....i've removed all java from laptop using synaptics...... installed jre the .bin file, dealt with the pointer i.e. the OS uses the right java.....made the symbolic link,,,,in firefox/plugins directory then restarted firefox... typing about:plugins .....

HELP!

the other issue is the cairo dock especially after installing through synaptic but now it doesn't show in any of the program menus......

oh yeah by the way i've got 32bt vista installed...and installed ubuntu after it ........

You really need to divide your issues in different threads.

Otherwise you are very unlikely to get any help
