Two thinks I'd like to do with multiple desktops

1) I'd like to open some programs on speciefied desktops - i.e. multimedia stuff always on desktop 2.
Problem is: if i mark "always on this desktop", close the program and reopen it while beeing on desktop 1, it opens on desktop 1, not 2.

2) I'd also like to place launchers on speciefied desktops. Right now all launchers are displayed on all desktops and I can't fin a way to change it.

I use gnome. Compiz is installed.

I only know how to get 1. to work:

in CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM), enable the "Fixed window placement" plugin, then in it's settings, under "Windows with fixed viewport", click on "new", then on the "+" sign and then "Grab" and select the window you want to place on a desktop different then the main one. Then, select it's X and Y viewport (desktop).
