Hi, I have installed Sun virtualbox on my home PC (running windows 7). Everthing was fine , I can see my ReadyNAS drive, the internet and evertyhing thru ubuntu running in virtualisation mode But cant seem to get remote working. Looking at my IP address in networks shows 169.254.x.y as my IPv4 Address. I can ping that address from within my local network , my PC router NAS etc. But cannot ping from outside the network, i.e. remotley. I am using Putty to establish a connection but i cant see the IP address.
Any suggestions?

Ubuntu v 9.10 running in a sun Virtualbox. [1GB Ram 50GB Disk]
PC W7 4gb and plenty of disk!
Remote PC running vista (ubuntu when I can get it to remote!)
