I'm using the restricted nvidia drivers in TwinView on the GNOME environment.

Monitors are setup as shown below using nvidia-settings.
{blankspace}{PRIMARY}
{SECONDARY}{PRIMARY}
{SECONDARY}{PRIMARY}

Primary is 1920x1200, secondary is 1680x1050.

Whenever I mount a drive, plug in a camera, a program makes a shortcut, the icon gets placed off-screen at the top-left of my secondary (right) monitor.

Is there any known fix for this?

Switch your monitors around? Switch the ports in your PC around as well as the physical monitors

As in having the primary on the left, secondary on the right?

My mousepad gets in the way and causes the monitor to be lopsided if it's sitting on top, or my mouse pad has a slope.

I'll try swapping the cords to see if that will help.
