Hi
I have a really big problem; last night I was working with my ubuntu; and after some time my PC crashed completely, I could not click or type or any stuff like that, so I restarted my PC and then it was not working.
I remember that it was updating my ubuntu; I don't know if it finished the update or not
the command is :
unknown file system
grub rescue>
I have a windows xp on my C drive, and an UBUNTU on my drive D which has a KDE desktop either
help me please, The UBUNTU live doesn't work also and I should give my project to my teacher in a few hours which I think is not possible regard to this problem

:(

Hi, if your LiveCD is not booting, then you need to check the BIOS is set to boot from CD and that the LiveCD is not damaged.

We need the LiveCD to get grub back on.

If your project is on the Win area, you can recover just the Win area until you can boot with a LiveCD.

To recover either the Win Booting record, or put Grub back on head over to --> http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1014708
