Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV4250 that I am trying to install Ubuntu 9.10. I can choose the language and then select to install but then it just sits there spinning the cd in the drive and never moves on.

Here is the laptops configuration if it helps.
Processor: Intel Pentium M processor 1.6GHz
Memory: 512MB
HDD: Toshiba 80GB
Graphics: Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML chipset

I have redownloaded and reburned the disc and have used the same burning app as I have used for other discs that have worked the first time.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced,
Hotrock3

When I face a problem like that I take the cowards way out: I'm trying another distribution.

Fedora, Linux Mint, OpenSuse, Mandriva, Debian, your options are countless.

Even if you still want ubuntu, this might indeed be a succesful tactic:

My first move would be downloading the alternate installer cd. Find it here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#alternate

This site will be handy for you also:

...Any ideas? ...

Yes, presuming you have a CD or DVD drive, ALWAYS boot from a LiveCD before attempting a new installation.

I'm using a tablet PC that also uses an Intel 915 chipset and no Ubuntu since 8.10 has been able to boot and run successfully on it. But ... it's a Tablet and may have some special hardware problems.
