A year ago I switched to Gnu/Linux (Ubuntu 8.10). Before I did this, I did my research. I must have read every Linux book I could get my hands on before realizing that all I really needed at the time was Keir Thomas' Ubuntu Pocket Guide but that's another story. (I had already settled on Ubuntu because I had read that it was the most popular distro.)

Anyway, I also went looking for Linux magazines. I knew they existed so I hit up the magazine rack at the local Barnes and Nobel. Zilch. Not a one.

Fast forward to today. I went back and I counted six (6) Linux magazines on the stand. That kind of blew me away. Zero to six is quite an improvement in just one year. Someone must be buying them or B&M wouldn't be stocking them.

What a difference a year makes.

Yes, I have been noticing similar developments here in Germany year for year since I started paying attention to the whole Linux field some 6 years ago. Things are moving along, and I hope they continue to do so.
