Hello all.
I am having trouble with installing ubuntu as a separate partition. I am currently having windows XP and want to install ubuntu too. I cannot boot from CD, although i select my first boot device as CD/DVD, it doesnt boot from CD. My system doesnt support boot from pen drive as well.
I launched the disk under windows. Selected first option(Demo and full installation)
Then i selected the third option(Help me boot from CD) and then it starts installing and gives an error " permission denied " and refers me to a log file thats too big to read.
Does someone know why this error occurs or how i can cure it ??
Or any other way to install ubuntu ??
Thanks

Does your optical drive boot other OS CD-s (like Windows for example).I ask you this to be sure that it is not hardware error. If it is not then you did something wrong during burning process.Read this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto) to be sure you made everything correctlyand if you do you can start installing Ubuntu.
