Hey folks. I'm working with very limited options here. I have a netbook with a very small partition dedicated to Ubuntu, and I'd like to make a large one. In order to do that, I need to create a liveUSB, but I don't have an optical drive. I have the CD, and a friend's computer, but I don't know how to turn the CD into an .iso file. I have very low bandwidth to work with, and don't want to download the file. Can I do this? I have UNEbootin, but I need the iso.

Just refreshing this idea to the top of the watch list. I'm still working the problem myself, but some advice might be helpful. Thanks for any thoughts.

Any cd burning software can make an image from a cd.
In brasero, go to "Disc copy" and make sure you set it to write to an image file instead of a physical cd.
