I am setting up a server with Ubuntu 9.10 and need java5 for the compatibility with target software.

Unfortunately, I could not get it installed with debian packages. And now can not get rid of this problem.

sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: The package sun-java5-bin needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
Any suggestions on how to remove this so the upgrade work again?

What is the correct procedure to get java 1.5 installed?
