nvidia drivers crash

hey when im on ubuntu 9.10 i have a nvidia card and ebery time i log out or shut downthe computer i cant see the GDM??? WTF and i cant see the load bar when i shut down i can only see this if im turning the computer on can u help meh?

What Nvidia card and what driver are you using ? Go to hardware and drivers and make sure you are using the Ubuntu provded 1.85 Driver for a newer Nvidia card or 1.73 for an older one.

Using drivers from the Nvidia download site is a crap-shoot right now the latest windows driver and two lunux drivers have been recalled. Nvidia did mention the
linux drivers on there download page I discoverd that on a linux website.
